SafeSignal Defender is an optional security layer inside OTAwallet that blocks unauthorized network traffic from hostile regions and protects your devices from foreign surveillance or exploitation.

Why SafeSignal Defender Matters

Many popular smart devices — especially those powered by eWeLink, Tuya, and other third-party firmware — silently connect to Chinese, Russian, or other foreign servers. These connections can:

  • Expose your household routines
  • Allow remote shutdown or firmware manipulation
  • Create backdoor access into your private network

SafeSignal Defender stops this at the packet level.

What It Does

  • Blocks all traffic to and from smart devices attempting to connect to:
    • China
    • Russia
    • Iran
    • North Korea
  • Filters DNS and IP-level connections to known foreign cloud services
  • Alerts the user when a device attempts unauthorized communication
  • Allows custom IP/region blocks for total control
  • Operates offline via SafeSignal protocols if internet is disabled

How It Works

  • Runs a local VPN-based firewall engine inside the OTAwallet app
  • Maintains real-time blocklists (updated via IPFS or OTA relays)
  • Optionally logs:
    • Device identity
    • Destination domain/IP
    • Timestamp and protocol

User Controls

From the Settings tab, users can:

  • Toggle individual region firewalls (China, Russia, etc.)
  • Add custom IPs or countries
  • View connection logs
  • See a list of devices flagged for blocked behavior
